MIDDLETOWN, NJ - Camp Jinka is a free summer day program for kids and teens whose lives have been impacted by a loved one’s diagnosis of a brain tumor or other life-threatening illness.  Children who attend the camp have a parent or a close loved one that is battling a brain tumor or has passed from one.  Some are survivors themselves.  This unique camp offers creative indoor and outdoor activities while encouraging expression and connection with others having a similar life experience. Camp Jinka is held at Middletown Arts Center, 36 Church Street, from July 16 through July 27, Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.

“Camp Jinka was created to support children and provide them with a nurturing loving environment where they create art, explore the outdoors and play games with other children who are in the same situation,” says founder Judy Zocchi. “For the parents, it is a welcomed respite for them and an opportunity for their children to have an escape and be a kid again!”
