ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS, NJ - This week she will focus on Mark 1:29-39, the healing of Simon's mother-in-law, in a sermon entitled "Who Is Calling You?"
" When Jesus touches you, there is no pretending it didn't happen" according to Genus . "It is as if electricity is now running through your veins;, you can't sit still, you must act. We will ask ourselves who is calling you and how are answering?"
The first Sunday in Lent, Feb.18th, the church will begin a series of sermons focusing on the Last Week of Jesus' life.
"Holy Week is rushed especially in the Gospel of Mark. We will take each Sunday to explore each consecutive day of Holy Week beginning with Palm Sunday on March 25h and ending with Easter on April 1..
"We study this portion of Mark's gospel through the lens of the Historical Jesus and uncover new meaning for us all as we approach the death and resurrection of Jesus, " Genus says.
