HOLMDEL, NJ - The New Jersey Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial Foundation (NJVVMF) is pleased to welcome Greg Waters as the new Curator for the NJVVMF Vietnam Era Museum and Education Center. Mr. Waters assumed his new role in mid-September and is already feeling at home at the NJVVMF, “As an undergraduate, I was fortunate to meet and speak with a lot of veterans,” he said. “I’d listen to their stories and hear their perspective on war and life. I feel like (NJVVMF) is a place where I can have an impact and help them (Vietnam Veterans) to have a greater impact, too.”
Waters grew up in Arizona and earned both his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Arizona State University in American History and Public History, respectively. He also completed two internships with the Smithsonian Institution at the National Museum of American History. Waters most recently worked at the Chemical Heritage Foundation (CHF) in Philadelphia, PA, where he worked on preserving the oral histories of scientists who transformed the modern world through their research and innovation.
On his decision to accept the position with the NJVVMF, Waters said, “This is an incredibly exciting time for the organization. Interest and participation in the work of the Memorial and Museum is growing, driving our new campaign to build an annex for expanded exhibit and presentation space. I can’t wait to start my review of our exhibits and work with the staff to continue building this wonderful resource.”
