Offices open late for acceptance of forms

FREEHOLD, N.J. – Monmouth County Clerk Christine Giordano Hanlon is reminding residents that tomorrow, Oct. 17 is the voter registration deadline for those wishing to vote in the Nov. 7 General Election. Registration must be completed and submitted to the Monmouth County Superintendent/Registrar of Elections by 9 p.m. tomorrow, Oct. 17.

“I urge everyone to exercise their right to vote and register for the fall elections,” said Hanlon. “Registration is easy and the right to vote is the cornerstone of our nation’s freedom and continued liberties.”

Residents may register at the Monmouth County Superintendent/Registrar of Elections Office located at 300 Halls Mills Rd., Freehold Township, from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. today, Oct. 16. In observance of the voter registration deadline tomorrow, the office will hold extended hours and remain open until 9 p.m. tomorrow, Oct. 17.

You may also register at your Municipal Clerk’s office, be sure to call for the hours and the location. 

Tomorrow, Oct. 17, the follow municipalities will hold extended hours:

  • Bradley Beach, 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Freehold Township, 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
  • Ocean Township, 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

A driver’s license number or the last four digits of your Social Security number must be entered on the New Jersey Voter Registration form.

In order to register to vote, you must be at least 17 years of age and a U.S. Citizen. Only individuals who are at least 18 years of age on Election Day will be permitted to vote.
