Keansburg, NJ – The Borough of Keansburg turned 100 years old on March 26th, 1917.  There will be a FREE three-day family oriented celebration starting on Friday, October 6th and ending on Sunday, October 8th. with a Fireworks Show on the Beach.  All events, rides, activities and parking is FREE for the weekend!

The celebration starts Friday evening at the beach entrance by Baywalk East located at Beachway & Main Street.  The fun kicks off with Food Trucks, a Beer Garden and a concert featuring Jimmy Shoez and the Magooz.

Saturday starts the day with a Father Time Free Family Fishing Derby on the Beach starting at 8 AM.  There will be an Ecumenical Memorial Service at 9 AM at the Old Traux Burial Ground located near Leroy & Frederick Pl.  From 11am to 3pm is a FREE Mini Carnival at Forest Park with a petting zoo, pony and carnival rides with a back drop of DJ Music.  A photo, arts and crafts popup show will be at Friendship Park from 1pm to 8pm along with a Beer Garden and Concert starting at 5pm featuring RB Express. Food will be available from local restaurants.

The celebration continues on Sunday at 11:30 am with an Old Timers Baseball Game played like the days of the famous Babe Ruth.  Come out to watch the Monmouth Furnace take on the New York Gotham’s at St. John’s Field. Admission is FREE and there will be multiple bounce houses and fun activities in the outfield for the children. 3pm will be the start of a Parade on Main Street ending at the Baywalk East Beach Entrance . There you will find a Mini Carnival taking place, a Beer Garden and a concert featuring White Wedding Band.  There will be food available from local restaurants. The celebration ends with a Fireworks Show on the Beach sponsored by BCB Bank.  There will be a FREE Shuttle from the main parking lot by the Amusement Park to the Beach for all of Sunday evening’s activities.

The Borough of Keansburg has seen a surge in development in the last 18 months with $65M in projects currently underway and around $25M more awaiting approvals.  There have been 15 new businesses opened in that time period as well.  The Keansburg Façade Program is in its’ last phase of completion and the Keansburg Mural Project is entering Phase 2.  “Keansburg is on the rise says, Cliff Moore, Keansburg’s Economic Development Coordinator.  “Keansburg was named the #1 Beach Bargain Town in the Country in 2016 according to RealtyTrac. and was the #2 Ranked for affordability in the Country for 2017 according to Realty.com. The New Jersey EMS Council chose Keansburg for the first and only 9/11 EMS Memorial.  All of these factors are indicators that add credibility to the revitalization of Keansburg and worthy of investment consideration, Moore added.”
