MIDDLETOWN, NJ - The following media release contains information pertaining to arrests and police activities for the Middletown Twp. Police Department during the time period of July 2, 2017 through July 15, 2017.

During the period of July 2, 2017 through July 15, 2017 the Middletown Twp. Police Department responded to 1,919 calls for service, including 140 first aid calls, 80 motor vehicle crashes, and 84 burglary and fire alarms.

Police officers arrested 21 individuals for outstanding bench warrants and 07 for domestic violence. Arrests include:

Keith J. Howe, 21, of Middletown, was arrested by Ptl. Timothy Walden for possession of marijuana in an amount of 50 grams or less.  Howe was processed and released on a summons complaint.

Maurice D. Murphy, 34, of New York City, NY, was arrested by Ptl. Nicholas Zubkow for being a fugitive from justice.  Murphy was processed and lodged in the Monmouth County Correctional Institution.

Conor M. Murphy, 25, of Belford, was arrested by Ptl. Kent Thornton for contempt of court.  Murphy was processed and released after posting $750.00 bail.

Jesse J. Morris, 52, of Middletown, was arrested by Ptl. Adam Cofer for possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia.  Morris was processed and lodged in the Monmouth County Correctional Institution.

Elizabeth I. Bernhard, 26, of Middletown, was arrested by Ptl. Savvas Roumeliotis for possession of marijuana in an amount of 50 grams or less, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of drugs in a motor vehicle.  Bernhard was processed and released on a summons complaint.

Holly S. Moyer, 38, of Middletown, was arrested by Ptl. Ryan Maguire for possession of cocaine, possession of a hypodermic syringe, and possession of a prescription legend drug.  Moyer was processed and released on a summons complaint.

Alexander N. Mercado, 18, of Sayerville, was arrested by Ptl. Sean Barry for possession of marijuana in an amount of 50 grams or less and possession of drug paraphernalia.  Mercado was processed and released. 

Joseph J. Reed, 31, of Keyport, was arrested by Ptl. Elzbieta Carpenter for possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia.  Reed was processed and released on a summons complaint.

Robert G. Dunn Jr, 26, of Belford, was arrested by Ptl. Christopher Menendez for contempt of court.  Dunn was processed and lodged in the Monmouth County Correctional Institution in lieu of $3,673.00 bail.

Kristi A. Lozier, 40, of Warren, was arrested by Ptl. Christopher Menendez for contempt of court.  Lozier was processed and lodged in the Monmouth County Correctional Institution in lieu of $1,000.00 bail.

Gary R. Melnick, 47, of Middletown, was arrested by Ptl. Nicholas Manochio for DWI.  Melnick was processed and released on a summons complaint.

Ricky Giusti, 62, of Atlantic Highlands, was arrested by Ptl. Daniel Benbrook for DWI.  Giusti was processed and released on a summons complaint.

Joseph C. Canavan, 26, of Belford, was arrested by Ptl. Michael Heaton for contempt of court.  Canavan was processed and released after posting $1,000.00 bail.

Carmen M. Rivas-Perez, 28, of Irvington, was arrested by Cpl. Thomas Russo for contempt of court.  Rivas-Perez was processed and released after posting $1,000.00 bail.

Rosalie Quaglietta, 24, of Hazlet, was arrested by Ptl. Ryan Pigott for possession of marijuana in an amount of 50 grams or less and contempt of court.  She was processed, issued a summons, and turned over to the custody of the Marlboro Police Department.

Edwin S. Salas, 19, of New Brunswick, was arrested by Ptl. Nicholas Manochio for DWI and possession of alcohol while being under 21 years of age.  Salas was processed and released on a summons complaint.

Clayton T. McClellan, 22, of Middletown, was arrested by Ptl. Eric Van Schaack for DWI.  McClellan was processed and released on a summons complaint.

Sandra L. Gassert, 48, of Keansburg, was arrested by Ptl. Julian Reis for shoplifting.  Gassert was processed and released on a summons complaint.

John H. Ballas, 21, of Matawan, was arrested by Ptl. Raymond Sofield for possession of marijuana in an amount of 50 grams or less, possession of drug paraphernalia, and providing alcohol to minors.  Ballas was processed and released on a summons complaint.

Isabelle F. Presser, 20, of Aberdeen, was arrested by Ptl. Raymond Sofield for possession of marijuana in an amount of 50 grams or less, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of alcohol while being under 21 years of age.  Presser was processed and released on a summons complaint.

 Timothy W. Smith, 52, of Atlantic Highlands, was arrested by Det. Lt. Paul Bailey for falsifications on a firearms application.  Smith was processed and released on a summons complaint.

Glenn C. Pittius, 35, of Keansburg, was arrested by Ptl. Stephanie Geisel contempt of court.  Pittius was processed and released after posting $2,001.00 bail.

Jesse M. Ballard, 26, of Middletown, was arrested by Ptl. Nicholas Haines for contempt of court.  Ballard was processed and lodged in the Monmouth County Correctional Institution in lieu of $21,400.50.

Paul V. Caivano, 42, was arrested by Ptl. Ryan Pigott for DWI.  Caivano was processed and released on a summons complaint.

Nicholas Ballard, 27, of Middletown, was arrested by Ptl. Eric Van Schaack for hindering his own apprehension and contempt of court.  Ballard was processed and lodged in the Monmouth County Correctional Institution in lieu of $1,500.00 bail.
