She is filling for the Rev. Paul F. Rack, who resigned effective last Sunday after returning to the pulpit for one Sunday following an absence of a month after heart surgery.
Rack, who is already pastor of the Hope Presbyterian Church of Tinton Falls, will now take on the pastorate of the Hope Presbyterian Church of Lakewood.
Genus preached here on May 28 when the 127-year-old First Presbyterian Church conducted its service at the municipal marina.
She will preach this coming Sunday at the 11 a.m. service at the church at Third and East Highland Avenues. Her sermon is entitled "Every Moment Counts" and the scripture will be Luke 9:51-62.
The church will conduct its next outdoor service at the Gazebo in the marina on July 23.
Vacation Bible School will be conducted by the Area Association of Community Churches July 10-14 and will be run by staffers from Camp Johnsonburg Presbyterian Camp.
