ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS -- David Harris, a long-time elder at the Hope Presbyterian Church in Tinton Falls, will be the guest preacher Sunday at the First Presbyterian Church of Atlantic Highlands.
Harris' sermon at the 11 a.m. worship service is entitled "Choices." He will be speaking in the air-conditioned Fellowship Hall at the rear of the 126-year-old church at Third and East Highland avenues.
The guest speaker will be substituting for the 126-year-old church's pastor, the Rev. Paul F. Rack, who is vacationing in Scotland.
Harris is a Delaware native who has lived in Monmouth County since 1971.
He served on the Session of Hope Church for 28 years and is active in the church music program. He has performed in community theater for many years and has appeared at the First Avenue Playhouse in the Atlantic Highlands many times.
He and his wife Mary recently celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary. They have three daughters and four grandchildren.
In addition to this Sunday's service, area residents are also invited to join the congregation every Sunday including the church's final summer worship service at the Gazebo in the municipal marina on Sunday, Sept. 25, when the guest speaker will be Jennie Salas.
