MIDDLETOWN, NJ - A community-wide Candlelight Prayer Vigil to remember the lives of the victims lost and those wounded in the recent Orlando attack will be held on the Great Lawn of the Westminster Presbyterian Church at 94 Tindall Road, Middletown, NJ on Thursday, June 23rd at 8:00 pm.
The Vigil will feature bagpipe music, patriotic songs, prayers, a reading of the names of the 49 victims by candlelight, and a message delivered by Rev. Joseph Hein: After Orlando: What Must We Do? The Boy and Girl Scouts of America will lead the Pledge of Allegiance and Ms. Roxane Lamont will lead the singing of America the Beautiful.
Food and a time for people to socialize will be offered before the ceremony from 7-8:00 p.m. The event will be held rain or shine.
Because this attack was not just on the LGBT community, but on every American citizen, it’s a time for all Americans to come together, to reflect, to pray, and to bond. Westminster Presbyterian Church planned the event to help draw everyone in attendance closer to each other in our national identity.
