MIDDLETOWN, NJ  Friday morning, the Middletown Police Department held its annual memorial service.

The service is held each year during Police Week to honor deceased officers. 

The ceremony was held at the Police Memorial located at Town Hall with a call to order and the Pledge of Allegiance.  An invocation was offered by Father Daniel C. Hesko.

R. Craig Weber, Chief of Police, addressed those gathered, as did Deputy Mayor Anthony Fiore.  Also in attendance were Mayor Dr. Gerard Scharfenberger, and Committe Members Stephanie Murray, Stephen Massell, and Kevin Settembrino,  Township Administrator Anthony P. Mercantante
Assistant Superintendent of Operations: Mrs. Mary Ellen Walker, and Freeholder Dep. Director Serena DiMaso.

Presentation of Flag was conducted by Patrolman Ian May.

The ceremony concluded with a benediction by Rev . Donald Magaw. 
TAPS were performed by Middletown High School North: Elizabeth Lewis (Jr.) and Thomas Waggner (Soph)
