story shrewsbury revisitedMonday, May 16th at 7PM

MIDDLETOWN, NJ - The Middletown Township Historical Society will host Rick Geffken, co-author of The Story of Shrewsbury Revisited 1665-2015, an  update of the 1964 classic which he wrote with Shrewsbury mayor Don Burden. The republication adds much in the way of human interest and proceedings from the past half-century that have shaped one of New Jersey's most historic areas. When founded Shrewsbury was known along with Middletown as "The Two Towns of the Navesink," so the linkage of the two places goes back to the 1660s. In the half-century between the two books much has happened to made the Shrewsbury an endearing suburban town. Rick's talk will highlight how this transformation occurred. Books will be available for purchase and autographing.

The location is the Poricy Park Nature Center, 345 Oak Hill Road, Middletown. The time is 7PM on Monday, May 16th.  Refreshments are served and visitors are welcome.
