MIDDLETOWN, NJ - The Middletown Veterans Affairs Committee will hold a third round of dedication ceremonies on Saturday, May 15, 2015 to mark installation of five more commemorative street signs that honor fallen veterans.  The veterans’ families as well as the public are invited to attend. The ceremonies are scheduled to include a color guard and the playing of taps.

More than 30 signs are being added to streets township-wide to honor our fallen veterans from World War II to present. The Veterans Affairs Committee plans to hold ceremonies at all sign locations. The commemorative sign includes the soldier’s full name, an American flag, branch of service, campaign served and a gold star representing the gold star mother and family. The Veterans Affairs Committee is seeking families of Middletown’s fallen veterans. Doherty Drive          May 16                       10:00 am
Doherty Drive was named in memory of John Doherty who was killed in action in Vietnam. The road is located on Middletown Lincroft Road, a half a mile from the Middletown Train Station.

Butler Lane              May 16                       10:30 am
Butler Lane was named in memory of Gregory Butler who was killed in action in Vietnam. The road is located off Cherry Tree Lane. 

Kolas Court             May 16                       11:00 am
Kolas Court was named after Robert Kolas who was killed in action in Vietnam. Take Palmer Avenue to Main Street to Kolas Court access Kolas Court.

Lauer Court             May 16                       11:30 am
Lauer Court is named after Frederick Lauer who was killed in action in Vietnam.

Pape Drive               May 16                       12:00 pm
Pape Drive is named after John Papewho was killed in action in Vietnam. Thee road is located off Navesink Avenue past the Stone Church.
