Red Bank, NJ – The Foundation for the Red Bank Public Library is pleased to announce it has received a $5,000 grant from Wells Fargo.  The funds will be used to support the Red Bank Public Library’s “Serving Red Bank, Serving All” initiative.  Wells Fargo representatives Susan Modri-Smith, Vice President & District Manager (Central Jersey Region) and Loredana Nadasan, Assistant Vice President (Red Bank) presented the check to Beth Hanratty, President of the Foundation.

The Red Bank Public Library’s “Serving Red Bank, Serving All” initiative is focused on better serving the Spanish-speaking residents of the community.  The program will help raise awareness of the resources available at the Library and increase usage through targeted collection and program development as well as outreach through schools, churches and other community groups and the development of protocols for offsite library card processing through the use of technology.

“We are grateful to Wells Fargo for the generous support of this important program,” said Paul Chalifour, Vice President of the Foundation who attended the check presentation along with Kathleen Brown, Foundation Treasurer Joan Rothwell and Library Director Elizabeth McDermott.

About the Foundation for the Red Bank Public Library

The mission of the Foundation for the Red Bank Public Library is to raise funds to support the Red Bank Public Library.  Current levels of municipal and state funding are insufficient to maintain a vibrant library in Red Bank. In recent years, reduced public funding and increased expenses have led to multiple reductions in the Library’s hours of operation and limits on collections and programs.  The Foundation is working to reverse that trend and to build a fiscally sustainable future for the Library. “Today, a great library is not possible through public funding alone, and Red Bank deserves a great library,” said Elizabeth McDermott, Executive Director of the Library and board member of the Foundation.  Local residents Beth Hanratty (President), Paul Chalifour (Vice President), Joan Rothwell (Treasurer), Alan Fisher, and Suellen Sims also serve on the Foundation Board.
