Public Invited to be a Part of the Studio Audience

Highlands, NJ - Highlands Borough Arts Council (HBAC) and Bahrs Landing Restaurant are pleased to launch FilmNITE on the first Fridayof December (12/5).   FilmNITE is an interactive experience where local film makers will introduce their work, present their work, and then discuss their work in the intimacy of Bahrs newly created grotto-like space downstairs from the main dining area.  Following the 12/5 launch, FilmNITE will be presented bi-monthly from January through April.  While FilmNITE focuses on local film artists, the subject matter will include both local and global themes. 

FilmNITE launches its program with a studio experience featuring local TV host and video documentary film maker, John Schneider.  John began capturing the scenic beauty, interesting people and rich history of the area soon after Hurricane Sandy devastated much of it.  His website,www.JerseyBayshore.com, includes more than 200 video travelogues about the Jersey Bayshore area in addition to information about all of the towns, activities and history of the area.  He currently hosts “Jersey Bayshore Country” and more than three million viewers have watched his weekly program in the last six months.

Schneider will kick off the program at 7:30pm with a preview of his latest television program.  Following the preview, Schneider will videotape a future episode in which he’ll interview a number of guests with you as the studio audience.  For those who wish to come early, a number of short films will be shown beginning at6:00 pm and there will be a video trivia challenge about the Jersey Bayshore.
