For the second year, the charity campaign will be “Sailing for the Bayshore” to benefit the RAINE (Reaching All In Need Everyday) Foundation of Hazlet, NJ. Sailors will race to help raise funds for those in the Bayshore who are still trying to put their homes and lives back together after Superstorm Sandy.
“It has been over a year and a half since Superstorm Sandy devastated our community, but there are so many people in our area still struggling to recover,” said Keyport Yacht Club Commodore Ann Quinn. “We are very proud that we were able to raise over $13,000 last year for Sandy relief in our area and we look forward to another successful event this year.”
“We are thrilled to partner with the Keyport Yacht Club’s annual charity event again this year. With the generous support of everyone involved last year, RAINE was able to provide many families throughout the Bay area with the help they needed after Superstorm Sandy,” said RAINE Foundation founder Patricia Dickens. “In addition to providing essential household items, we were able to send more than 33,000 school children back to school with all the school supplies they needed for the entire year.”
