They worked with local, state, and national leaders to have the Atlantic Highlands Harbor built. The Lions conduct annual eye screenings for children and have assisted those in need with corrective eyewear for the last few decades. They assisted a few individuals in the community who were in financial need to obtain sight saving surgery. The Lions have also participated in Disaster Relief efforts around the world through the Lions International Foundation (LICIF) as well as here in our local community with the Nor’easter Strom of 1992, Hurricane Irene, and recently, Hurricane Sandy with a donation of $1,000.00 of foods and supplies to our local food Pantry.  The Lions most recent accomplishment has been to partner with the Atlantic Highlands PBA to raise $11,00.00 for the Lions sight conservation services, which included the purchase of one of the most sophisticated eye screening cameras on the market.  This new device is called the Spot 2 Eye Screener and can be used to screen individuals from the age of 6 months to over 100 years, and provides a full range of screening results including medical measurements that Ophthalmologists (eye Medical doctors) can rely on for the most accurate diagnoses.
