MIDDLETOWN, NJ - Read to a Dog is a great way to improve the literacy skills of children. It encourages children to read by providing a non-judgmental listener in our furry friends. Independent readers in Grades K-5 will read to a certified therapy dog for ten minutes.
Read to a Dog will take place in the library’s Children’s Quiet Reading Area at 55 New Monmouth Road, Middletown, NJ 07748 on Tuesday, December 4th from 7-8pm. Pre-registration @mtpl.org is required.
Holiday Gift Wrap- With the assistance of their grown-ups, children will stencil gift wrap suitable for winter holiday giving. The craft portion will be followed by stories emphasizing the joy of giving. This program is not specific to any one holiday. This program for Fantastic 4’s & 5’s will take place in the library’s Children’s Program Room at 55 New Monmouth Road, Middletown, NJ 07748 on Thursday, December 6th at 3:30pm and 4:15pm. Please choose only one session for this date.

The Middletown Township Public Library will host Math Starts, an interactive math program for children ages 2-3 on Wednesday, December 5, 2012, beginning at 10:00 a.m.
"I'm this many fingers old!" "I knocked down all the blocks!" Young children develop math skills through games, rhymes, and stories long before they reach the age of workbooks and flashcards. During librarian led Math Starts classes, adults & children enjoy different math play activities.
The class will take place in the library’s Children’s Program Room at 55 New Monmouth Road, Middletown, NJ 07748.
