Middletown, NJ – On October 13, between the hours of 10 am -3 pm, Middletown area residents will team up with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital® in the fight against childhood cancer. This year is the 50th anniversary of St. Jude and our goal is to raise at least $5,000. The St. Jude Walk is an event to give area residents the opportunity to help support the lifesaving mission of one of the world’s premier pediatric cancer research centers. The fundraiser will be held rain or shine, at Mater Dei Prep (track and field) on Cherry Tree Farm Road in the New Monmouth section of Middletown. Registration for the walk begins at 10am, with the actual walk taking place between 11 and 2.
There is no fee to walk; however, since we are trying to raise money for the hospital, donations are appreciated. Walkers who raise at least $35 will be eligible for prizes. Donations can be made by check the day of the walk or online before the event at www.mystjudewalk.org/middletown. You may also register for the walk at this link.
“We are excited to help raise awareness and funds to support the mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, which is to find cures and save children,” said Therese Omelanski, walk coordinator. “The St. Jude Walk will truly make a difference in helping the children of St. Jude fight cancer and other deadly diseases. We are hoping that many people will participate and donate money to help us to help these children and their families.”
To date, some of the sponsors for the St. Jude Walk are DJ Johnny’s Magic Moments, Complete Tire and Auto Repair, Crown Tire, and Auto Exotica, to name a few.
