MIDDLETOWN, NJ - The Middletown Township Public Library is soliciting for New Jersey-themed art by local teens and tweens, to be presented on Thursday, August 23, 2012, beginning at 6:30 p.m.
"Why We Love NJ", an art show and reception on August 23, 2012, will showcase what is nice about New Jersey. Artists between the ages of 11 and 18 can use any 2D medium that they like to create a piece of art that displays what you like about New Jersey. It can be the beach, the park, or anything else--the sky's the limit!
The deadline for contribution is Sunday, August 5th. Pieces must be 16" x 20" or smaller, framed or unframed. Completed pieces can be dropped off between now and August 5th at 10 Cove Court, Middletown, NJ 07748.
The opening reception will be from 6:30 to 8:30 at the Middletown Township Public Library on the patio. After the opening, the art will be displayed in the Teen Zone until August 31. With the artist's consent, the work will also be posted on a website for the show.
Contact Chloe Brownlie at firstname.lastname@example.org if interested or if you have any questions. Anyone who emails Chloe will be sent a permission slip with information about the show and how to contribute.
All work will be returned to the artists after the exhibition concludes on August 31.
The art show will take place on the library’s patio and in the Teen Zone at 55 New Monmouth Road, Middletown, NJ 07748. Funding for the library's public programs comes from the generous support of the Middletown Township Public Library Foundation, Inc.
