ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS, NJ - Rolling into town: the ‘Moveable Type Truck’ parks in Atlantic Highlands for free letter press printing demos on Tuesday, October 25.

Kyle Durrie has 2 passions: letterpress printing and travel. This owner of Power and Light Press in Portland Oregon has combined the two by converting a 1982 Chevy truck into a rolling letterpress studio. With the invitation from the Atlantic Highlands Arts Council and the Painted Frame Gallery, she will arrive in Atlantic Highlands on October 25 and be an ‘open shop’ for some hands-on printing demonstrations.

The press starts rolling at 3:30 and will continue until 7:30pm at 77 Center Ave, outside the Painted Frame. Come on out to try the art and craft of  printing before the digital age. The street will be closed, singer/songwriter Jenny Woods will entertain from 6 pm until 7:30 pm, and refreshments will be available . Miss Dhurrie will also be selling cards and posters she has printed along her journey - it's an opportunity to purchase unique cards and gifts, while supporting the Type Truck's fuel bill.

Come on out on Tuesday October 25 from 3:30 -7:30 to see the magic of wood-pressed ink on paper.Find Kyle Durrie's blog and see her travel journal on http://type-truck.com/.
