HAZLET, NJ - The Hazlet Township Library is offering two dynamic Monday night programs for the end of summer --  an open mic night for spoken word artists and a free class on Zen mediation.

On Monday, August 22, local spoken word artist Mark Brunetti of  The Idiom Magazine will take the mic at the Library at 7 p.m. Brunetti, who has performed at the Annex in Asbury Park and  the Cornelia Street CafĂ© in New York City and written two poetry anthologies, will read some of his work and then turn the mic over to audience members who wish to participate.

 Participants ages 16 and older are invited.  Performers can sign in upon arrival.

On Monday, August 29, a free two-hour class in meditation in the Chinese Chan (Zen) tradition will be offered at the library, beginning at 7 p.m. This program incorporates sitting and moving sessions, including yoga exercise and walking meditation.

 Instruction for beginners is available. This class is sponsored by the New Jersey Chapter of the Dharma Drum Mountain Buddhist Association.
