Rain causes partial washout; road to be repaired by Tuesday morning
MATAWAN, NJ – Highway crews spent the day repairing a portion of Ravine Drive (CR6A) near Lake Lefferts that had been washed out by Sunday’s heavy rainfall.

This morning, highway crews from the Monmouth County Department of Public Works and Engineering were able to keep one lane open as repairs were being made. The repair entailed replacing a downstream bulkhead, backfilling and applying new asphalt to the roadway.
“All efforts were made to maintain traffic flow in that area while repairs were being made,” said Freeholder Deputy Director John P. Curley, liaison to the county Department of Public Works and Engineering. “The road is expected to be open by rush hour on Tuesday morning.”
