ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS, NJ - The Atlantic Highlands Historical Society will host its Summer Tour on Saturday June 25. Visitors will be able to view a glimpse of our historic town by visiting six lovely homes, and the Strauss Mansion Museum.

           The tour will showcase six residences each with their own unique architectural style. Among them are a 112 year old home built as a summer retreat by a New York merchant which has been lovingly restored and modernized; a gentlemen’s retreat built circa1920’s which features a massive peanut stone fireplace; a 1920’s town and country home which includes both traditional and modern touches; a 1928 classic bungalow redesigned and transformed into a serene retreat which includes a spiral staircase leading to a loft, a basement guest hideaway, and an outdoor garden courtyard; a 1916 Craftsman home with chestnut and oak throughout beautifully restored and preserved including the owner’s added art studio; and a 1970’s contemporary where an entry bridge leads you into an open layout with an expansive view of the Raritan Bay and Atlantic Ocean,

Tour goers will also have the opportunity to tour the Strauss Mansion Museum a 21 room 1893 Queen Ann Style Victorian        

The self-guided tour will be held from 10AM to 4PM. The tour begins at the Strauss Mansion Museum at 27 Prospect Circle where tickets can be purchased starting at 9AM. Light refreshments will be served until 1 PM. Tickets prices are $25 for Society members or if preordered and $30 the day of the tour. Anyone wishing to pre order tickets can send a check payable to (AHHS) to the Atlantic Highlands Historical Society at P.O Box 108 Atlantic Highlands, NJ 07716 a confirmation will be sent and tickets can be picked up at the Mansion the day of the tour. Tickets can also be purchased at Flaky Tart 145 First Ave.

            All proceeds from this event will be used for the further preservation and renovation of the Strauss Museum and educational programs throughout the year.
