Chief Jerry Vasto reports the Atlantic Highlands Police Department responded to a 911 call for an unresponsive male on Sunday morning 3/30/14 at approximately 9:00 AM. Sergeant Harry Murtha and Patrolman Adam Gurian responded to 10 Manymind Avenue Atlantic Highlands finding a 17 year old male to be deceased at that location. The Atlantic Highlands First Aid Squad and MONOC Paramedics responded to the scene as well.
Sergeant Murtha had the scene secured for investigation of a suspicious death of the 17 year old youth from Middletown Township. Detective Sergeant Thomas Stone along with Detectives of the Monmouth County Prosecutors Office and Monmouth County Medical Examiner’s Office are conducting the investigation. Preliminary findings of the officers have led them to believe that the youth’s death may be drug related.
