RED BANK, NJ - The Red Bank Public Library’s Acoustic Saturdays series returns for the start of its third season at the library on September 25 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. in the Eisner New Jersey Room with a performance by singer, guitarist, and songwriter Emily Grove.  Emily, whose voice resonates with pure emotion, sings without artifice or affectation.  Her audience will relate to her lyrics, which connect with the human heart in the great tradition of folk music throughout the world.  She has performed her music frequently in coffeehouses locally as well as in Manhattan and Boston, where she is currently a student at Berklee College of Music. She has been nominated for the Jersey Acoustic Music Awards and an Asbury Park Music Award and has won several New Jersey singing contests. Emily studies classical voice with Valerie Sorel and Eric Trudel of Manhattan and has performed with Operamici at the Riverside Church in Manhattan.  You can visit Emily on MySpace at www.myspace.com/whattoput.

The library presents this series featuring acoustic musicians and singer-songwriters on the last Saturday of the month from September to November and January to May.  Michael Aksin will appear on October 30, 2010, and Gerald Edward will appear on Novebermber 27, 2010.  The Acoustic Saturdays programs at the library are produced and hosted by guitarist Anton Daub, the emcee of the weekly acoustic open microphone on Wednesday nights at Espresso Joe’s coffeehouse in Keyport and a frequent performer at many of the area’s acoustic music venues.  These free performances are supported by funds from the New Jersey State Library.
