Benefit Performance To Support the Achievement in the Arts Scholarship Program Friday, September 24, 8:00pm, Middletown Arts Center, Middletown, NJ

Middletown, NJ (August 30, 2010) - On September 24, 2010 at 8:00pm, the Middletown Township Cultural & Arts Council (MTCAC) will host an electric night of live music and dancing by The Josh Zuckerman Band, guaranteeing a great time as their soulful mix of eclectic sounds and witty lyrics appeal to all music lovers. Funds raised by the special performance will support the MTCAC’s Seventh Annual Achievement in the Arts Scholarship Program, established in 2004 to celebrate the artistic talents of outstanding Middletown high school seniors. In addition to high school scholarships, the MTCAC offers opportunities for financially disadvantaged families to attend its popular Summer Arts Camps. Steve DeVito, a friend of the community and lead guitarist in the Josh Zuckerman Band, will compose the evening’s exciting performance. DeVito has been a devoted member of the arts community in Middletown for years, supporting the efforts of the MTCAC’s mission and promoting the Middletown Arts Center’s programs and events. At the event, DeVito will be honored by the Center for his service to the community.

The Josh Zuckerman Band also features lead singer Josh Zuckerman, drummer Christopher Russo, bassist Matthew Morris, and guitarist Thomas Briant. With a diverse musical background that incorporates the band’s love for Country, Rock, and Pop, their live performances cross many musical genres.  Lead singer Josh Zuckerman has also released two CDs, Out From Under and A Totally New Sensation, to great reviews and has just released his latest CD, Got Love?, which appeared recently on MTV.com. He has been nominated for OMA music awards for Outstanding Songwriter of the Year and Outstanding Debut Male. Zuckerman’s songs have appeared on Kathy Griffin’s Bravo reality show “My Life On The D-List”, and the tracks “Out From Under” and “Something Inside” were the number one most requested songs on Sirius Radio for multiple weeks.

The performance will be held at the Center’s beautiful 245-seat theatre with retractable seating and state-of-the-art sound and lighting equipment. Located on 36 Church Street in Middletown (next to the Middletown train station), the Arts Center has been recognized with an award for excellence in design by the New Jersey Recreation and Park Association.
