HOLMDEL, NJ -- From Saturday, April 24 through Sunday, May 2, Historic Longstreet Farm, Longstreet Road, Holmdel, will host a Hooked Rug Exhibit featuring works from Association of Traditional Rug Hooking Artists members. If you plan your visit the weekend of April 24 & 25, you can also enjoy Wool Days/Sheep Shearing from 12noon-3pm and see fleece as it is sheared from the sheep, spun into wool and hooked into rugs. During Historic Longstreet Farm’s Wool Days/Sheep Shearing, visitors may also head out on a wagon ride to the neighboring Monmouth County Historical Association’s Holmes-Hendrickson House where staff will offer spinning and weaving demonstrations. The Hooked Rug Exhibit remains at Historic Longstreet Farm through Weekend in Old Monmouth, May 1-2, a county-wide event when most historic sites are opened to the public.
