RED BANK, NJ - Pat Cresson, a long time New Jersey resident and professor at Monmouth University, will be showing selections from a series of mixed media oil panels in the windows of the Art Alliance Gallery during the month of June.   These are process paintings that start with traditional collage constructed of torn or cut pieces of her drawings, prints, and other textured material on a wood panel.  From this framework the paintings in oil and cold wax emerge.

Recently the artist has explored the connection between geometry and nature.  Cresson said of her work, “Under the foundation of all that is natural and organic lies a geometric grid. I am exploring this by juxtaposing hard edge geometric design form, scientific illustrations, and pattern against organic landscape shapes, portions of sketches, and botanical illustrations, all buried in the wax.”

Koch Art Center, KS; Attleboro Museum, MA; Alfa Art Gallery, New Brunswick; the Monmouth Museum, NJ, Printmaking Council of NJ, Silvermine AONE Exhibit, CT; Center for Contemporary Printmaking, CT; Art space National Juried Printmaking Exhibition, VA; 1st Annual International Alternative Digital Print Exhibition, Booksmart Studio-Kunstler Gallery, NY, Minot State University, SD, and the Kimball Jenkins Galleries, NH and many other venues.  Additionally, she was a juried visiting artist/teacher for the NJ State Council on the Arts.
