More recently, Rydell has been on a touring schedule around the country, but that was interrupted five years ago when he underwent a liver and kidney transplant operation at Thomas Jefferson University Hosptal in Philadelphia. Following the 20 hour surgical procedure, he became a leading advocate of the importance of organ donation through the Gift of Life organization, and has spread public awareness on the importance of organ donations on worldwide tours for the past five years. Returning to the stage in Las Vegas after his recuperation from surgery, Rydell also resumed touring the USA and Australia with the Golden Boys, the trio of fellow teen idols comprised of Rydell, Frankie Avalon and Fabian Forte.
Entrance doors for the Library event will open at 5pm. Seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis, based on pre-registration, and attendees are requested not to hold or reserve seats for others.
