RED BANK, NJ - The exhibition season at the Art Alliance in Red Bank will begin this September with the lively and colorful work of Mike Quon. Always infused with sunshine and a sense of fun and excitement, the pieces Quon will feature landmarks of Monmouth County.

An artist, designer and illustrator, the California-born Mike Quon established himself as a groundbreaking graphic artist during his 25-year career in New York City. As a fine artist, he is best known for his vibrant and whimsical interpretations of pop culture, everyday objects and architectural renderings.

Quon grew up surrounded by art. His 103-year-old father Milton is a prolific watercolorist and was an early animator for Walt Disney, providing imagery for the classic Fantasia. Mike studied art and design at UCLA, where he was influenced by mentors Richard Diebenkorn and Ed Ruscha. He moved to NYC in the mid-1970s and now works from his home and studio at the top of the Jersey Shore in a wide variety of mediums.

Quon’s works are in the permanent collections of The New York Historical Society, The Library of Congress, the US Air Force Art Collection, and The New York Times. Over the years his advertising campaigns have been seen worldwide in numerous publications and venues that include Times Square, Giants Stadium, the World Cup, and the Summer Olympics.

Inside the gallery, members of the Art Alliance present “All Things Considered,” a selection of recent works.

The show opens on Saturday, September 10 with a reception from 6-8 p.m. Refreshments will be served, and the public is invited to attend. The exhibition continues through September 28, and can be viewed during gallery hours, Tuesday through Saturday, noon to 4 p.m.
