WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ - "We’ve Got Trouble!" The Music Man, the iconic Broadway musical, brings the Wells Fargo Wagon to Shore Regional High School (Shore Players) from March 11 through 20!
A sparkling homage to a bygone era, The Music Man follows fast-talking traveling salesman Harold Hill as he cons the people of River City, Iowa, into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys’ band he vows to organize – despite the fact he doesn’t know a trombone from a treble clef! His plans are foiled when he falls for spirited Marian (the librarian), who transforms him into a respectable citizen by curtain’s fall. With beloved songs such as “Seventy-Six Trombones,” “Till There Was You,” and “(Ya Got) Trouble,” this award-winning classic boasts a brilliant, score of rousing marches, barbershop quartets, and sentimental ballads that have earned a place among musical theater’s most cherished standards. It’s a must-see musical for the whole family!
Based on a story by Meredith Willson and Franklin Lacey and with Book, Music and Lyrics by Meredith Willson, The Music Man won five Tony Awards when it debuted in 1957. The Shore Players production showcases our truly talented high school performers. Leading the cast is senior Luke Sweeney as Harold Hill, the music man. Other familiar faces include Christine Mitchell (Marian Paroo), Nicole Cebulko (Zaneeta Shin), Zachary Arlt (Marcellus Washburn) and Rachel Primavera (Amaryllis). Completing the cast are Max Cameron, Jared Cohen, Nick Troncoso, Jake Cecero, Olivia Rescigno, Abby Arlt, Annie Ruoff, Hope Allem, Summer Ward, Danielle Bristol, Alex Patton, David LaPorta, Cameron Janovic, TJ Macaluso, Nick Troncoso, Anthony Nannarello, Ellie George, Kayla Young, Marisa Hembling, Annika Kotch, Erin Chen, Taylor Hendricks, Isabella Whitaker, Hailey Katzenberger, Felicia Aschettino and Colin Ahearn, as well as youngster Jack Sweeney as Winthrop Paroo.

He is best known for his affiliation with the hit musical Grease (Mr. Aikens toured nationally as the slick, fast-talking disc jockey, Vince Fontaine). Mr. Aikens is also a Shore Players alum. Rounding out the production staff of The Music Man are Asst. Director, Lindsay Wood, Choreographer Tara Eccles-Frye and Music Director Dr. Jeffrey Unger, and Producer, Randee Skloff.
