RED BANK – The Count Basie Theatre has announced four arts impact scholarships to be awarded at the 11th annual Basie Awards, the theatre’s celebration and recognition of excellence and achievement in high school theatre, taking place on Wednesday, May 18. Tickets to this year’s ‘Basies’ go on sale Friday, March 13th at noon through www.thebasie.org, phone charge at 732-842-9000 and the theatre box office.
This year, the Basie will proudly offer four scholarships: the Moser-Taboada Arts Impact Scholarship, the Monmouth Medical Center - Barnabas Health Arts Impact Scholarship, the Monmouth County Freeholders’ Basie Scholarship for Continuing Education and the new Siciliano Landscape Company Arts Impact Scholarship. The Monmouth County Freeholders’ scholarship will be awarded to a student attending a New Jersey-based college in the fall.
Students may apply for all four scholarships by visiting thebasie.org/education, filling out the application form and creating an official entry packet, consisting of an essay, resume and three personal recommendations.
