Our Little Sister
The award-winning film is based on a popular serialized comic book about a Japanese family of three sisters who discover an unknown fourth sibling at their father's funeral. The cast is headlined by Masami Nagasawa, Haruka Ayase and Suzu Hirose. Director Kore-eda received a jury prize at Cannes two years ago for “Like Father, Like Son,” and his 2009 film “Air Doll” premiered in Un Certain Regard at Cannes.
In a glowing Variety review, Maggie Lee wrote: “Our Little Sister" is Kore-eda’s fourth film to center on forgotten children. This time, the main characters have grown up and seem to cope better in their cozy provincial life and the story explores their desire to reclaim their childhood.”
