Art Opening December 5, 2015 7-9pm

HIGHLANDS, NJ - “FLUX”, an exhibition which contains thought provoking acrylic paintings significant not only in size, but in the artist's deliberation. Flowing from an externally prompted internal transition. The artworks have been inspired by Rorschach inkblots, captured through canvas division, vivid colors, and cohesive flowing hues. Each canvas holds a glimpse into the highlights of this shift in understanding. In concurrence with Rorschach’s studies the exhibit encourages interaction where the viewers are provided allotted cards to write down their personal interpretations. The artist intends to use these interpretations for a future exhibition.

R.J. Clawson’s artwork “Dripper’s Drift” was part of the “Main Hall Mango Madness & Member Summer Salon” in The Armory, a historic site in Key West, Florida which was home to The Studios of Key West. His artworks have also been displayed at The Art Alliance of Monmouth County, The Monmouth Beach Cultural Center, along with the AH Arts and Eats Festival. Clawson is a husband, father, and military veteran.  He is currently working towards a degree in Social Work with the intent of becoming an Art Therapist.

Clawson lives and creates his art in Highlands, NJ. He states “I am thrilled to have been given this opportunity. Having moved over the summer we are excited by our decision to settle here. It is a wonderful time to be a resident of Highlands. Having attended select weekly events around the area for a few months these are definitely exciting times in our community, especially within the Water Witch Coffee Shop. The coffee, pastries, and music are all great...and no surprise, the welcoming and creative environment has brewed something very special.”

The show will be located at 67 Waterwitch Avenue, Highlands, NJ 07732 from 7PM to 9PM on 05 DEC 2015.
