The vision of the Executive Producers Cathy Jenkins from Wanamassa, Debby Schwartz from Tinton Falls and Rafe Serebreny from West Long Branch is to educate adults and children through Film and Acting. Bullying has no age limit and “Shadows” calls for even more parents and teachers to be protecting  children’s safety.

The message of this movie is clear:

……Secrets do come at a price and bullying has to stop!

……The torture these kids go through both in school and at home must stop!

shadows bullies 3The movie takes place in a private school with students beginning in elementary school moving on to High School. It deals with the tease and humiliation students target before finally, physically. bullying them. Students who typically choose to either participate or watch don’t always stand up for their friends. As they watch, in spite of the fear of becoming the next target, we find some students will step in for friends and say no.

Performance with Passion Players/ Cinematique School cast 16 students for “Shadows who were all taking classes at the time. Five more adult actors and two extras were cast from the community. Henry Hudson Regional High School provided 16 volunteering students  for extras in scenes. Supported by the Henry Hudson Regional School District Board of Education permission was granted for shooting in and outside of the school including athletic fields. Principal Lenore M. Kingsmore and her staff arranged the schedules and worked closely with Debby Schwartz, Cathy Jenkins and Rafe Serebreny from the Passion Players board. Parents, cast members and friends worked with tech crew, transportation and location logistics to make this movie possible.
