Book Launch of “The Leaf People” Will Feature Author Signing, Fashion Designs, Meet and Greet
West Long Branch, NJ - The Leaf People, LLC and author Martin Link will celebrate the release of The Leaf People, an illustrated family novel, with a book launch event on Saturday, November 15, 2014, from 5 pm – 9 pm at L.B. Forcellati & Sons Garden Design Center and Gift Shop, located 1846 Route 35 in Wall Township, NJ.
“The breathtaking greenhouses at L.B. Forcellati & Sons are the perfect backdrop to introduce the world to The Leaf People and its characters,” said Mr Link.
The Leaf People is a magical children's story celebrating the importance of tolerance, family, diversity, and the beauty of nature and the earth. In The Leaf People, five children from different backgrounds meet while on a mountain vacation with their families. When exploring the woods, they literally tumble through a Tolerance Bush and emerge in Leaf People World where plants, trees and flowers are alive and human-sized. The children are welcomed by Billy Blue Spruce, Rosie Rose, Lily of the Valley, Irving Ivy and many others. They quickly realize that The Leaf People and their new friends must work together to restore harmony to their world.
“The Leaf People story and its characters embrace love, tolerance and family values while promoting awareness of the environment and diversity,” said Jennifer Gasser, Vice President of Branding and Marketing for The Leaf People LLC.
Copies of The Leaf People will be available for purchase at the book event, and can be signed by the author during the launch.
This child-friendly event is free to the public and will offer light refreshments catered by Mossuto's Market of Wall Township. There will also be the chance to meet some special guests.
“We are very excited to announce that there will be the opportunity to meet and be photographed with some of the characters from The Leaf People, including Billy Blue Spruce, Rosie Rose, Lily of the Valley, Irving Ivy and the villainess Polluta,” said Mr. Link. The Leaf People characters will be wearing creations by fashion designer Ashton Hall.
Also on display for the evening will be more than 50 panels of the original hand painted artwork and fashion design sketches commissioned for the book.
A portion of The Leaf People's proceeds will be donated to The Matthew Shepard Foundation, Nkosi's Haven, The National Wildlife Federation, and Southern Poverty Law Center.
