MADISON, NJ — Opera at Florham presents its next Musicale on Sunday, October 19th at 3 p.m. in Lenfell Hall, Hennessy Hall, featuring a variety of famous opera arias and Broadway songs.  This event will be a joint presentation of Opera at Florham with BRAVO Alliance, a local music organization that shares the mutual goal of serving the greater community through the highest quality of artistic presentations.  This Musicale will take place at Fairleigh Dickinson University’s College at Florham, Madison, NJ. 

The venue, Lenfell Hall located in Hennessy Hall, was the drawing room of the Twombly family when they lived in the 100-room mansion.

 

The Musicale will feature several distinguished performers. Risa Renea Harmon, soprano, is an acclaimed vocalist for her technical virtuosity and communication skills and winner of the American Jenny Lind Competition. 
Adelmo Guidarelli, baritone, the 2011 MAC Award winner for Best Comedy/Musical Comedy Performer for his one-man show “Operation Adelmo – The Clown Prince of Opera” whose voice has been critically acclaimed by journalists from around the globe as confident, commanding, relevant, brilliant, breathtaking, and romantically enticing.
Joseph Dennis, as an apprentice with Santa Fe Opera in 2013, sang the role of Giuseppe in La Traviata and joined their production of Le nozze di Figaro. In 2013-14 he joined the roster of Palm Beach Opera in productions of Il barbiere di Siviglia and Les contes d’Hoffman; and sang the role of Malcolm in Verdi’s Macbeth.

The song list will include Mozart’s “Madamina” from Don Giovanni, Verdi’s “De miei bollenti spiriti” from La Traviata, Bernstein’s “Tonight” from West Side Story, Leigh’s “Impossible Dream” from West Side Story, and 10 others

David Wroe, Opera at Florham’s Artistic Director, will serve as Master of Ceremonies for the Musicale. He is also Conductor and Artistic Director for the New Jersey Festival Orchestra, Westfield, NJ. David Maiullo, Chairman of the Board and Music Director for Bravo Alliance, will be the Accompanist for the Musicale.

Light refreshments will be served following the performance, with an opportunity to mingle and meet the artists.

Tickets are $35 for regular admission, $30 for seniors, and $10 for students. Special rates are available for Groups of 10 or more at $25 per ticket.
