The Board of Trustees of the Monmouth County Historical Association is pleased to announce the election of its twentieth President, Claire Knopf of Rumson.  Mrs. Knopf assumed the office of President of the Board of Trustees at the September 21st Board Meeting held at the Association’s headquarters in Freehold.

Mrs. Knopf graduated from Boston University with a B.A. in English Literature.  A resident of Monmouth County since 1986, Mrs. Knopf has long been an active community leader and volunteer.  She has served as a Trustee of the Historical Association since 2000 and is a past First Vice President.  In addition, she served on the Rumson Country Day School Executive Council, the Women’s Council of the Leon Hess Cancer Center at the Monmouth Medical Center (WCCCM) where she is the Vice Chair, and as a Trustee for the Monmouth Day Care Center, Spring House and the Two River Film Festival.

Mrs. Knopf has also chaired numerous successful fundraisers to benefit various Monmouth County charities including the Historical Association, Monmouth Conservation Foundation, the Visiting Nurse Association of Central Jersey, and Charley’s Fund, in addition to those organizations listed above.  A member of the Junior League of Monmouth County from 1988 to 2000, Mrs. Knopf is now a sustainer of that organization.
