FREEHOLD – From the smooth sounds of jazz to a tribute to the Boss, the musical lineup at the 2010 Monmouth County Fair hits all the right notes. The Fair starts with a bang on Wednesday, July 21, when party band Flying Mueller Brothers hits the stage at 7:45pm and 9:30pm performing a mixture of original and cover “island-influenced” songs.
Thursday night, July 22, brings Tim McLoone and the Shirleys to the stage from 7-8:30pm. A dynamic blend of rhythm and blues, classic rock, country and Broadway, the eclectic sound of this group promises to be a treat. Then the Mark Chernoff Trio, a jazz trio of sax, bass and drums, plays from 9-10:30pm.

The beat continues when the original Springsteen Tribute Band, the BStreetBand, takes the stage at 8:30pm on Friday, July 23. Audiences will be singing and dancing to some of the great tunes in rock history.
Then award-winning, singer/songwriter Jody Joseph takes the stage at 8:30pm on Saturday, July 24. Armed with a repertoire of bluesy ballads, soulful rockers, and spiritual songs with an attitude, the singer delivers an electrifying performance.
Saturday afternoon from 1-4 p.m., members of Chorus of the Atlantic will be strolling through the park singing barbershop harmonies.
Last, but certain not least, the Brookdale Big Band will perform at 12:30pm on Sunday, July 25. From the standards from the ‘40s to the latest jazz stylings, the Brookdale Big Band is sure to thrill audiences. Besides these amazing musical acts, be sure to catch other great live entertainment like DLW Timber Works Lumberjack Show, Bwana Jim’s Reptile Show, and Robinson’s Racing Pigs and Paddling Porkers.
The Fair runs Wednesday-Sunday, July 21-25. The Fair gate is open 5 to 11pm on Wednesday, July 21, Thursday, July 22, and Friday, July 23; 11am to 11pm on Saturday, July 24; and 11am to 6pm on Sunday, July 25 at East Freehold Showgrounds, Kozloski Road, Freehold Township. The Monmouth County Fair is organized and presented by the Monmouth County Park System in cooperation with the Monmouth County 4-H Association. The Monmouth County Park System is celebrating its golden anniversary of keeping the county green and livable, since the Board of Chosen Freeholders created the first county park in 1960. Today, the Park System has grown to over 30 sites totaling more than 14,500 acres and offers approximately 4,000 recreation program and activities, making it the perfect place to come outside and play.
