Celebrate America’s anniversary by dipping a quill in ink, donning a tri-cornered hat and imagining life during the Revolutionary War.

Above and Below – the Mechanics of the Mill

Saturday, July 17 from 9:30-11:30am

Historic Walnford, Walnford Road, Upper Freehold

Visitors age 14 and up are invited to explore all four levels of the gristmill and see how the machinery is cleaned, adjusted and lubricated. Wear old clothes and sturdy shoes. No fee, but registration required. Please call (609) 259-6275.

Oh Freedom! Exhibit

This traveling exhibit from the New Jersey DEP captures the stories of African American soldiers who fought during the Revolutionary War.

The Monmouth County Park System is celebrating its golden anniversary of keeping the county green and livable, since the Board of Chosen Freeholders created the first county park in 1960.
