Freehold, NJ -- Presidents of Brookdale Community College and Rutgers University will reaffirm the 10-year partnership between the schools at a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday, June 10, 4pm, celebrating the completion of extensive renovations at Brookdale’s Western Monmouth Campus, location of the Brookdale Rutgers Partnership.

Presidents Dr. Peter Burnham, Brookdale and Dr. Richard McCormick, Rutgers will provide remarks and sign a resolution reaffirming the agreement.  Tracy Olski, Bayville, and Jeffrey Plate, Asbury Park, both Rutgers graduates who earned their degrees through the Brookdale-Rutgers partnership will speak at the event, 3680 Route 9 South, Freehold.

A new $500 scholarship, to be awarded annually, will be announced. The scholarship will be designated for a Brookdale graduate who attended classes at the Western Monmouth Branch Campus and has been accepted into one of the Rutgers’ programs offered through the Brookdale-Rutgers’ Partnership.

Reconstruction of the 38,000-square-foot facility at the Western Monmouth Branch Campus includes new classrooms, science labs, study areas, and faculty offices that will yield a 50-percent increase in capacity. The new classrooms will be fully technology-enhanced for a variety of academic degree programs offered by Brookdale and Rutgers. In addition, the new facility will have areas for noncredit courses and community programs.
