The fourth annual Beach Cruiser Bike Race will feature a great day of fun and camaraderie. The race is held by Ted Shred’s and will benefit Clean Ocean Action
HIGHLANDS, NJ - Time to get stoked! Ted Shred’s is seeking participants to dust off their beach cruisers and loosen their legs for the Fourth Annual Beach Cruiser Bike Race. The race will take place at 10 am on Saturday, May 8th in Lot E of Sandy Hook with an after-party at Windansea in Highlands. In an effort to raise awareness and help stop the ever-growing problem of ocean pollution, all ticket sales will be donated to Clean Ocean Action.
Hosted by Ted Shred’s (the company that produces those irresistible surf wax scented candles and air fresheners), the race will cover a 5-mile route along Sandy Hook’s scenic coastline. The top three finishers, separated by geared and non-geared classes, will compete for some awesome prizes including a new beach cruiser donated by The Peddler in West Long Branch. Don’t forget to get a little creative with your bike! Ted Shred’s also has prizes for the top three “Most Unique” bikes. Ted Shred’s and the Sandy Hook National Park System require all riders’ stay to the right of the roadway and children under the age of 17 wear a helmet.
No one knows how to “after” party like Ted Shred’s. Immediately following the race participants, friends, and family are all invited to gather for drink specials and delicious “FREE” food at Windansea on Shrewsbury Avenue in Highlands. The party will feature an awards ceremony and many will receive great handouts and prizes from sponsors like Zoo York and Katin. There will also be live music by Quincy Mumford and others. Free food and goodies will be provided by Surf Taco, Windansea, Spellbinders, Sunsation, Whole Foods and Billabong. Finally, Ted Shred’s Surf Wax candles and accessories will be on display with a portion of proceeds going to C.O.A.
If you don’t have a beach cruiser, no worries! The race is open to all ages and is designed for everyone and anyone on any style bike.
