Presentation by Ms. Alexis Bowman, NJ Watershed Ambassador, Freehold Division of Planning.
HIGHLANDS, NJ - Navesink Maritime Heritage Association is delighted to host Ms. Alexis Bowman for an update on the status of Eastern Monmouth County's watershed. The Monmouth County Watershed and its impact on our local rivers affects all of us who live in Eastern Monmouth County.
Ms. Bowman, a NJDEP Watershed Ambassador based out of the Freehold Division of Planning, will explain the present approach to watershed issues from a County perspective, and provide a picture of the status quo and most pressing issues.
She will show how GIS (Geographic Information Systems; fancy maps with lots of data) is allowing us to visualize natural flows and man nature interaction with regard to watershed issues and where the fastest improvements can be made.
This presentation will show us about looking upstream and upland for downstream improvements to the Shrewsbury rivers. True knowledge of a river relates to knowing where the water comes from.
7:30pm: Coffee and cookies. 8:00pm: presentation. 9:00pm: Close. FREE and open to the Public.
