FREEHOLD, NJ - Sheriff Shaun Golden, Surrogate Rosemarie Peters, and Freeholders Tom Arnone & Serena DiMaso would like to thank the voters of Monmouth County for their overwhelming vote of confidence in last night's Countywide elections.

In all three contests, the County Republican candidates outpaced President-Elect Donald Trump, who scored 53% of the vote and won by ten points. County Freeholder candidates Tom Arnone & Serena DiMaso won in 3 of the 4 County Democrats' hometowns, including Belmar, Hazlet, and Marlboro.

The Monmouth County Democrats went all in and fell flat, with resources being poured in from special interests all around the state. Chairman Gopal has now gone 0 for 5 in Countywide elections since becoming Chairman, and if County Democrats could not even come within 20,000 votes of winning a Freeholder seat in a Presidential cycle with $1 million dollars in their coffers, it will be unlikely, if not impossible for them do so in the future.

We are victorious for two simple reasons- Monmouth County government is fiscally responsible and extremely well run, and we have an enthusiastic team of volunteers to help deliver that message to voters. Unlike the Monmouth County Democrats, the County Republicans don't need to rely on professional field organizers from Washington, D.C. to get our message out. We have hundreds of hard working volunteers who knocked on tens of thousands of doors, and made hundreds of thousands of phone calls on behalf of our GOP candidates.

Our local Republican candidates easily fended off well financed challenges in high-populous towns such as Manalapan and Hazlet Townships, two places where control was up. We also scored big local victories in Neptune City, Belmar, Fair Haven, Union Beach, Spring Lake, Spring Lake Heights, West Long Branch, Shrewsbury, Colts Neck, Holmdel, Freehold, and Middletown, just to name a few.

Shaun, Rosemarie, Tom and Serena will continue to give our all to serving the people of Monmouth County, and we thank the voters for their support in yesterday's historic, landslide victory.
