NEPTUNE, NJ – Monmouth County Clerk Christine Giordano Hanlon announced that she and Monmouth County Board of Elections Chairwoman Jo-Ann Dinan will host a Vote By Mail Seminar for candidates and voters on Tuesday, Sept. 20 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Monmouth County Connection Office.
Clerk Hanlon and Chairwoman Dinan will be on site to explain the Vote By Mail process and Monmouth County Clerk’s Office staff will be present to distribute and collect Vote By Mail applications.
“On behalf of Chairwoman Dinan, it is our privilege to educate residents about the Vote By Mail process,” said Hanlon. “In Monmouth County, we want to make sure that all citizens have the ability to vote, even if they are unable to go to the polls on Election Day.”
A registered voter can vote by mail for any reason and most importantly, every valid vote cast by mail will be included in the election results.
“Voters do not have to worry that their vote will not be counted,” said Hanlon. “The Vote By Mail process is very simple: a voter must complete a Vote By Mail application and will then receive a ballot in the mail, which contains instructions about returning the ballot to the Clerk’s Office.”
This application can be downloaded from the Monmouth County Clerk's website or www.monmouthcountyvotes.com, by visiting one of the Monmouth County Clerk’s Offices, or the municipal clerk in the voter’s hometown.
“We look forward to meeting with Monmouth County voters and answering any questions they may have regarding the Vote By Mail process,” said Dinan.
The seminar is free and open to the public. Registration is not required.
