HOLMDEL, NJ - New Jersey Transit will be proceeding with bridge repair on the New Jersey Transit Coast Line Bridge that runs across Laurel Avenue (Monmouth County 52). The Holmdel Township Police Department has been notified by New Jersey Transit that the tentative start date for this project is on or about Friday, August 5, 2016.

The project is scheduled to last approximately two months. Weather and unforeseen conditions may extend the work schedule and traffic conditions.

This project will have a major impact on vehicles that travel on Laurel Avenue attempting to gain access to State Highway 35 and the Garden State Parkway (G.S.P.). This project will also effect surrounding streets and townships.

In order to complete the work in a safe and efficient manner, Laurel Avenue (CR-52) will be closed for the duration of the project at the New Jersey Transit Coast Line Bridge to ALL vehicular traffic. This closure includes vehicles traveling south bound towards Holland Road and the G.S.P. Exit 114, and vehicles traveling north bound towards State Highway 35. This restriction includes emergency vehicles as well.

The Holmdel Police Department will provide police officers during peak travel times to assist motorists in safely navigating the detour. A full detour plan will be established and approved, and signs will be posted shortly along the effected roadways.

Motorists are to expect heavy delays due to the volume of traffic that will be detoured. If possible, try to avoid traveling during peak travel hours. If you will be traveling during peak hours, please allow yourself additional time for your convenience.
