April 13 - Deadline to change party affiliation for primary
May 17 is the deadline to register to vote in the primary
June 7 is primary day - polls open 6 AM - 8 PM
FREEHOLD, NJ – The deadline is fast approaching for those wishing to vote in the June 7 primary. Registration must be completed by May 17.
“Residents may register at the Monmouth County Voter Registration Office, 300 Halls Mills Rd. in Freehold Township, until 9 p.m. May 17,” advised Acting Monmouth County Clerk Christine Giordano Hanlon. “To register in the town in which you reside, call your municipal clerk for the hours and the location.”
In either case, a driver’s license number or the last four digits of your Social Security number must be entered on the New Jersey Voter Registration form.
All U.S. citizens at least 18 years old by Primary Day, and not incarcerated, on probation or parole, are eligible to vote.
WHO CAN REGISTER:
NJ Residents at least 17 years of age may register to vote. Your voting status will be listing as "pending" until your 18th birthday. If you are registered and will be 18 years old by June 7, 2016, you will be eligible to vote in the primary. If you are registered to vote and will be 18 years old by November 8, 2016, you will be eligible to vote in the general election.
Save some time by downloading a copy of the New Jersey Voter Registration form, filling it out beforehand and taking it with you when you register. The form can be found on the County Clerk’s page of the Monmouth County website at www.visitmonmouth.com.
