TINTON FALLS, NJ - Internationally renowned Israeli Rabbi Uri Regev, Esq., will give a series of talks at the Monmouth Reform Temple (MRT) on Saturday, May 7, 2016 from 3 to 8 pm. The public is invited and a buffet dinner will be served. Admission is free but donations are welcome and appreciated. MRT is located at 332 Hance Avenue in Tinton Falls, NJ. For questions call the temple office at 732-747-9365.

MRT Rabbi Marc Kline states, “Rabbi Uri Regev commands respect from Jews (and non-Jews) from all walks of the spectrum. As one of the founding strong voices of the Israeli Religious Action Center, now past President of the World Union for Progressive Judaism, and now as founder and executive director of Hiddush (a multi-cultural activist think tank), Uri's name has become synonymous with progressive egalitarian change.”

He adds, "Uri is a close personal friend and an amazing teacher. His worldwide commitment to fairness transcends Reform Judaism and even Judaism. Through advocacy, he demonstrates a love for a people, government, and land; as a Jewish nation, Israel must be a safe-haven for righteousness and egalitarian justice."

Rabbi Regev will give three consecutive, text-based talks. The first is entitled, “Who is a Jew?” The second, “Can Israel be both Jewish and Democratic?” and the third, “Liberal Judaism and the religious/state clash in Israel.” This program was made possible through a bequest by Past MRT President Bob Rosin to the Shabbat Kallah Fund.

In addition to his current and previous positions referenced by Rabbi Marc Kline, Rabbi Uri Regev has served on the boards of many other major organizations. You can learn about him by visiting the Hiddush website at
