MIDDLETOWN, NJ — Not an expert but think birding might be fun? Then join the Monmouth County Park System for The Casual Birder. Held at 9 a.m. on select Thursdays, this free nature program invites ages 8 and up to join a Park System Naturalist and meander through the parks looking for birds. The schedule is as follows:
· January 7 at the Henry Hudson Trail. Meet in the Popamora Point parking lot in Highlands.
· January 21 at the Manasquan Reservoir, Howell. Meet at the Visitor Center’s Bait Shop.
· February 4 at Hartshorne Woods Park. Meet in the Claypit Creek parking lot in Locust.
· February 18 at Seven Presidents Oceanfront Park, Long Branch. Meet at the Activity Center.
Participants are invited to bring their binoculars. A limited number will be available to borrow if needed.
