November 1st at Monmouth University
WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ — Monmouth University student-run organization, Students Advocating Girls’ Education (SAGE) will hold its inaugural 5K walk/run on campus on Sunday, November 1, at 10 AM, to benefit Women & Girls Education (WAGE) – International and its mission projects.
“We are so grateful to SAGE for planning this 5K. It’s an opportunity to connect with our community and raise funds for a very important purpose—the education of our children,” said WAGE President Heather Mistretta. “At WAGE, we believe that every child across the globe deserves the opportunity to live a happy, healthy life absent of abuse and violence, and we believe education is the key toward achieving that.”
The race will begin at Wilson Hall and weave around campus before ending back at Wilson Hall. Prizes will be given to the first, second and third place men and women, and refreshments will be provided by Gourmet Dining.
Sponsors of the event include the Gender Studies Club, the Sociology Club, the Gender Studies Program and Gourmet Dining, all at Monmouth University as well as Retro Lounge.
Registration, which includes a t-shirt for the first 100, is $15 for general admission and $10 for students and children.
